• AC Entertainment/Superfly (n.): the two production companies responsible for putting on Bonnaroo each year
• The Arch (n.): the only arch on the grounds marks the way to the main entrance into Centeroo from the campground, much like the Mushroom Fountain the arch’s color scheme changes with each year’s event
• Arepa (n.): a common affordable festival snack made of ground sweet corn and melted mozzarella sold at any one of several carts strewn across the grounds
• Art Cars (n.): wandering art installations that roam Centeroo boasting colorful lights, innovative design and experimental music (e.g. Calliope)
• BonnaFam (n.): a term of endearment used to refer to group of people one shares the Bonnaroo experience with
• Bonnaroo Buzz (n.): a flavor of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream introduced in 2011 to celebrate the festival’s 10th anniversary, Coffee Malt ice cream with Whiskey Caramel swirls and English Toffee pieces
• Bonnaroovian (n.): any current or former attendee of Bonnaroo
• Bonnaroovian Code (n.): the code of conduct expected from every attendee, artist, crew member, volunteer, and employee at Bonnaroo, comprised of six pillars: Prepare Thyself, Play as a Team, Radiate Positivity, Respect the Farm, Don’t Be That Guy/Gal, and Stay True ‘Roo
  

  The Arch.

• Boomers (n.): common slang for psilocybin (“magic”) mushrooms used by peddlers, often heard throughout Bonnaroo
• Bushy Branch Rd. (n.): the main road through the campgrounds that runs from the eastern tollbooths to the western tollbooths
• Buttscratcher! (interjection): a widely used call and response game that pops up every now and then at festivals (especially Bonnaroo), taken from a famous skit featured in the animataed Fox comedy Family Guy
• Car camping (n.): The most widely used and most popular camping option at Bonnaroo, up until 2016, each ticket included one parking spot and campsite with the admission price; 2016 is the first year to impose a fee for car parking
• Census (n.): an annual survey mapping out both typical and bizarre demographics of each event’s population
• Centeroo (n.): the main venue area where all billed acts perform/are featured, containing all music stages, the Comedy Theatre, Cinema Tent, and more; accessible from any campground, security controlled
• Chattanooga (n.): Tennessee’s fourth-largest city, located 70 miles southeast of Manchester; home to one of the two nearby airports that provide easy access to Bonnaroo
• Chocolates (n.): a term used to describe a piece of (usually dark) chocolate that contains measured doses of psilocybin mushrooms
• Clean Vibes (n.): this eco-friendly cleanup company is utilized by many festivals to aid in cleaning up the aftermath left behind following an event, and is meticulously organized to optimize recycling efforts (visit their booth at Centeroo)
• Coffee County (n.): The Tennessee County in which Manchester is located, the Coffee County Sheriffs maintain a strong presence in and around Bonnaroo
• Comedy Theatre (n.): a large tent in the southwest corner of the Centeroo where Bonnaroo’s various comedic acts perform their act, since these events see high demand and the venue has a limited capacity, tickets are often distributed beforehand on a first-come first-served basis (free of charge)
• Cuckoo Clock (n.): this towering monstrosity near Centeroo’s alternate entrance used to let loose a cacophonous chime every hour on the hour, followed by an extremely loud and often obnoxious song clip; that feature has been since removed and now the tower resembles a giant disco ball perched on a tower
• Doses (n.): common slang for LSD used by peddlers, often heard in the campgrounds, occasionally on Shakedown
• EDM (n.): an acronym that stands for electronic dance music, a wide-reaching genre that encompasses any type of uptempo electronically-produced music; the genre has seen exponential growth in popularity over the last five to ten years, and EDM acts are now staples at every major music festival
• The Farm (n.): colloquial term for Bonnaroo, referring to the 700 acre farm that Great Stage Park (the festival’s venue) is held upon
  

  Ferris Wheel. (Duh)

• Ferris Wheel (n.): A colorful Centeroo staple since the festival’s inaugural edition in 2002, offering aerial views of the entire grounds; a second Ferris Wheel was added at the top of Shakedown St./3rd Ave in 2012, yet did not return the next year.
• Fire lane (n.): The strictly enforced strip of land between campsites where no car nor tent is allowed to be parked nor pitched.
• General Admission (adj.): the most common ticketing option, grants the holder access to the campground and Centeroo area
• Groop Camping (n.): A camping option for large groups of at least twenty-four campers, Groop Camping must be reserved in advance and costs $50/person
• Inforoo (n.): an online message board (powered by ProBoards) that allows for Bonnaroovians to speculate about and discuss Bonnaroo’s many aspects (lineup, rumors, scheduling, etc.) while opening a public forum for fans to interact between events (inforoo.org)
• Le Bon Tents [formerly Tent City] (n.): A small collection of on-site tents available to rent (for a hefty fee), complete with elevated cots and ceilings high enough to stand up straight inside
• Lunar Stage (n.): a short-lived all-electronic stage that featured up and coming DJs at all hours of the night (only utilized in 2010)
• Manchester (n.): The small town in Tennessee where Bonnaroo is held
• Molly (n.): common slang for the pulverized crystal of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (the principal ingredient in ecstasy pills) used by both peddlers and buyers alike; often found in the form of bagged powder or within capsules (or “tabs”)
• Monk (n.): any sort of religious zealot that makes it through the festival gates to impose their dogma on unsuspecting festival-goers
• Mounted security (n.): security personnel that patrol the grounds on horseback, dressed in easy-to-spot bright red uniforms, mostly there to enforce fire codes
• Mushroom Fountain (n.): a landmark of a fountain located in Centeroo that sports a different paint job with each year’s event, the fountain is a popular destination for attendee’s to seek temporary relief from the often oppressive Tennessee heat, though since the fountain uses recycled water so by the end of the weekend it often carries a rather murky hue.
• Nashville (n.): Tennessee’s capital city and the second largest city in the state, located 65 miles to the northwest of Manchester; Bonnaroo provides free shuttle service to and from Nashville Airport
• Nuggets (n.): common slang for marijuana used by traveling peddlers of the plant’s buds, often heard on Shakedown Street (3rd Ave) or milling about the campgrounds
• The Other Tent (n.): One of the three main tent venues (see also This Tent and That Tent), located in the northwestern part of Centeroo
• Pesto Mozzadilla (n.): a popular snack offered along Shakedown St and within Centeroo, it consists of pesto and mozzarella cheese that is pressed between two tortillas (like a quesadilla) 
  

  Mushroom Fountain. Hoo boy

• Pharmies (n.): blanket term used by peddlers that encompasses most prescription drugs (e.g., Valium, Adderall, Xanax, Vicodin, etc.), not often heard at recent editions of Bonnaroo
• Planet Roo (n.): an area of Centeroo devoted to sustainable living, greening initiatives, and eco-friendly goods and practices; located near the very center of Centeroo, marked on either end by identical sculptures resembling hands hoisting the planet Earth into the air
• Pods (n.): numbered stations strategically placed throughout the campgrounds that offer multiple services and courtesies to campers, including medical assistance, replacement garbage/recycling bags, maps and schedules, lost & found, etc.; they are marked by large globular aerial dirigibles that are easily spotted from far away
• RFID (n.): acronym that stands for Radio Frequency Identification, the RFID is a chip attached to each attendee’s entry wristband which is scanned each time a concertgoer goes through the gates separating Centeroo and the campground or the tollbooths
• Rolls (n.): common slang for pressed ecstasy pills used by peddlers, heard occasionally throughout campgrounds, rarely on Shakedown
• ‘Roo (n.): abbreviated form of the name of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, used most often as shorthand in written correspondence, though also occasionally appears in spoken
• Shakedown Street (n.): colloquial term for one of the main roads through the campgrounds to Centeroo (the main venue space), also known as 3rd Ave
• Silent Disco (n.): an area in Centeroo that plays a live DJ set over headphones worn by attendees to dance to without disturbing their surrounding environment
• Ski/blow (n.): common slang for cocaine used by traveling peddlers of the powder, rarely heard at Bonnaroo since the late 2000s
• Snake and Jake’s Christmas Club Barn (n.): an activity barn in the northern part of Centeroo (near the alternate entrance) modeled as tribute to the legendary New Orleans dive bar Snake and Jake’s Christmas Club Lounge, featuring Christmas decorations, food and beverage vendors, and other activities
• Splash-A-Roo (n.): Bonnaroo’s celebrated water park area, located in Centeroo between This Tent and The Other Tent, access to slip-n-slide and giant inflatable waterslide (fee required for entry)
• Stoner Boat (n.): a meal option offered near some of the campsites, this beast consists of French fries, chili, chopped up burger patties, and melted cheese (cost $5)
• Superjam (n.): a perennial featured showcase of artists collaborating onstage, often themed and/or curated by one or two well-known artists/bands
• That Tent (n.): One of the three principal tent stages (see also This Tent and The Other Tent), located at the northeastern corner of Centeroo
• This Tent (n.): One of the three principal tent stages (see also That Tent and The Other Tent), located directly across from the Mushroom Fountain in Centeroo

• Tollbooths (n.): Entryway into the festival grounds, each attendee must pass through security and wristband inspection at the tollbooths to gain entry (and re- entry); there are multiple tollbooth entryways at different points around the perimeter of the grounds
• Undercard (n.): the majority of artists booked to play a festival; any act that isn’t considered a headliner
• VIP (adj.): an acronym that stands for Very Important Person, this premium ticketing option includes a preferred viewing area, prime camping area, and other perks
• What Stage (n.): Bonnaroo’s main stage utilized by the festival’s musical headliners, as well as other daytime acts; features the largest viewing area on the grounds
• Which Stage (n.): The second largest stage and viewing area at Bonnaroo, located almost due west of the What Stage and south of the three Tents (This, That, The Other); features a large rotating white ‘?’ on top
• Who Stage (n.): one of the smaller stages in Centeroo where many of the Club Acts perform
• Wristband (n.): the ticket to the festival which is worn around the wrist and contains a RFID chip allowing the wearer to travel in and out of Centeroo, the campground, and the festival grounds as a whole
